Centralpark.com is one of the main sites of Central Park in New York City. They were seeking a redesign of their current site. One of the major issues I noticed with their thousand-page site is that they had information overload on each page. My goal in this project was to take their website in a completely new direction. This concept was about turning the content-heavy website into an easy and interactive way to plan a trip. Being aware that the main audience of this site was tourists, I created an interactive trip planner where they could drag events into their “My Trips” itinerary. This could also be shared socially or put into your “likes”. If someone was only seeking information they could simply click on the side navigation to the more standard information-based pages or on the event title itself. This way the site wasn’t losing their content and they were still able to have the option of developing ideas with friends and even strangers.
