Oliver Breweries has been brewing beer in Baltimore since 1993. They recently held their grand opening party, offering tours of the new brewery and providing customers with taste samples. For this they were seeking sample beer bottle labels, hang tag beer labels and a new T-shirt design. The beer labels were meant to be easily customizable so that Oliver’s could write the type of beer and percentage by hand on each bottle. The hang tags, while also customizable, are meant to have a “speciality feel” to compliment the 22oz bottles they were being hand-tied to. These were sold as limited edition beers. I gave them a center-diecut lion, a unique die-cut shape, and a metallic foil to really emphasise their importance and price value. Their mascot, the lion, was the main inspiration for the hand drawn illustration of the lion skull on the shirt. I wanted to do something that felt more dimensional and hand-done.
